Aytay Khorraminejad is an Iranian visual artist, educator, and curator whose work bridges traditional and contemporary practices in art. With over two decades of professional experience, she is known for her nuanced exploration of cultural identity, social transformation, and the poetic qualities of everyday life. Her artistic journey began with a foundation in Industrial Design at Alzahra University, followed by a Master’s degree in Art Research from the Faculty of Art and Architecture at Islamic Azad University in Tehran. Her academic background informs her methodical yet expressive approach to visual storytelling.

Aytay is the founder and director of the Khorraminejad School of Visual Arts in Tehran, a prominent art institution where she has mentored hundreds of students and shaped the next generation of Iranian artists. Her teaching philosophy centers on fostering creativity, critical thinking, and technical mastery. Many of her students have gone on to exhibit internationally or pursue careers in the arts.

Her own artwork has been exhibited across the globe, including in San Francisco, Istanbul, Almaty, and Dubai, and her curatorial projects reflect a commitment to amplifying underrepresented voices and bridging cross-cultural dialogues. As a curator and juror, she has been invited to lead and participate in exhibitions both in Iran and abroad.

Aytay’s visual language often features layered compositions, symbolic gestures, and expressive forms. Through painting and mixed media, she explores themes such as memory, femininity, resilience, and the intersection of personal and collective histories. She has also contributed to the field through academic publications and lectures on art theory and criticism.
